Our users and their needs
AFSC users are amongst those who are the most vulnerable members of our community. .
Most times they feel isolated or excluded and cannot participate in their own community activities.
Children need help with their language and support with their homework to do better in school. This would help equip them to make clearer decisions and have a better range of choices of employment in the future.
It would be of benefit for the children to learn and grasp their mother tongue to improve interaction within the family, and community. Parents need to meet other parents to exchange information and combat isolation. They also need to improve their communication skills to be able to get a job in the future and contribute to the economy of this country
We currently teach over 250 throughout the boroughs. AFSC offers unique and proven courses for 6-16 years olds. We teach French, English and Swahili through games, songs, stories and crafts while encouraging the child's natural desire for communication with an emphasis on fun.
